Square Design Summit 2025: recap

Square Design Summit 2025 — what a ride!

We’ve just wrapped up three extraordinary days at the Square Design Summit 2025, organised with aplomb by the ever-capable Kate Scott. The event featured 30 speakers across 3 days – all generously sharing their know-how, ideas and tried-and-true methods.

From a KSD perspective, it was brilliant to see how many people signed up for the Starter Kit afterwards. The feedback has been outstanding.

highlights

  • The speaker lineup: 30 presentations, each packed with value. It’s virtually impossible to pick the “best” one because so many were excellent.

  • Sessions covered everything from design trends in Squarespace, business model tweaks, to practical workflow improvements.

  • The community vibe was strong — designers, brand-builders, website folks all coming together, learning, connecting.

  • From KSD’s view: seeing the number of Starter Kit sign-ups felt like a win on multiple levels. It confirmed there’s appetite for bite-sized, smart resources that work. The feedback has been so positive: people are using the Kit, making changes, seeing forward movement.

why it matters

In our world (brand identity and Squarespace website design) staying current matters. Events like this keep the momentum going. For KSD it means two things:

  1. Fresh ideas to bring into our client work — we’re not resting on what we know, we’re pushing forward.

  2. Confirmation that tools like the Starter Kit have a place. They’re not just “nice to have” — people are using them, benefitting from them, and that’s what we strive for.

What I’ll take back

  • Even when you think you’ve seen every workflow tweak, someone shows a clever way to reorganise a design system or streamline a Squarespace page.

  • The Starter Kit momentum reinforces that packaging expertise clearly matters. It’s one thing to offer your service; another to package it in a way that’s easy to say yes to.

  • Community, sharing, connection: designers helping designers. That feeling was alive and well throughout the summit.

a quick thanks

Big shout‐out to Kate Scott and her team: flawless planning, excellent scheduling, great delivery. Thank you to all speakers for being generous with your time and ideas. And a massive thank you to every attendee who signed up, listened in, took notes, and then took action with KSD’s Starter Kit.

What’s next for KSD

We’ll be reviewing all the top presentations in more detail and picking out the key takeaways that we can bring into our work (and share with our community). If you attended the summit and used the Starter Kit, drop me a line — I’d love to hear your experiences.
